On June 19, 2026, the standard AS/NZS 2293.3:2026 developed by the Australia New Zealand Lighting LG-007 Joint Technical Committee was released, and it is expected to be mandatory to replace the current AS/NZS 2293.3:2018+A1:2021 in 24 months.

 


 

It includes the following Australia New Zealand technology changes:

(1) Updated terminology and testing definitions to align with AS 60598.2.22:2019 and IEC 61347-2-7:2011+A1:2017+A2:2021; For example:

 

(2) Update the definition of export label components to improve consistency;

(3) Increase the lifespan estimation and labeling requirements for the L80 light source of continuous emergency lighting fixtures;

 


 

(4) Regarding the level of light intensity distribution, lighting fixtures that are exempt from testing and labeling have been added, such as emergency lights for stair handrails and adjustable headlights. Added the requirement for four sided (C0/C90/C180/C270) grade identification for some lighting fixtures.
