Disposable electronic cigarette EN 862:2016 Repeatable sealed electronic cigarette EN ISO 8317:2015
As a restricted access product, cigarette cartridges or finished electronic cigarettes are used to protect children worldwide Each major country has issued corresponding product access regulations, directives, and technical standard requirements.
Disposable electronic cigarettes, reusable sealed electronic cigarettes, and cigarette cartridges or finished electronic cigarettes, as restricted contact products, must comply with national regulations and standards to ensure child safety. The following is a brief explanation of the relevant testing content:
1. Smoke oil leakage test
Purpose: To ensure that the product does not leak e-liquid during use or storage, and to prevent children from ingesting or coming into contact with harmful substances.
Testing method:
Simulate the leakage of e-liquid under normal use and extreme conditions.
Check the sealing performance of the product under different pressures, temperatures, and mechanical stresses.
2. Children's group sequence test
Purpose: To evaluate the protective ability of the product for children, ensuring that children cannot easily open or come into contact with e-liquid.
Testing method:
Children of a specific age group participate in the test, attempting to open or operate the product.
Record the number of times and time children successfully open the product, and evaluate its protective performance.
3. Adult group sequence testing
Purpose: To ensure that the product can be used normally by adults while preventing children from coming into contact.
Testing method:
Adults participate in testing and attempt to open or operate the product.
Record the number and duration of successful product launches by adults, and evaluate its usability.
Related standards and regulations
EN 862:2016: Applicable to disposable electronic cigarettes, specifies packaging requirements to prevent children from opening.
EN ISO 8317:2015: Applicable to reusable electronic cigarettes, specifies testing methods and requirements for child resistant packaging.
