Luminous flux test

Refers to the radiation power that can be perceived by the human eye, which is equal to the product of the radiation energy of a certain band per unit time and the relative visibility of that band. The unit of luminous flux is "lumens".

Luminous flux is a physical quantity that describes the visual perception intensity of visible light emitted by a light source to the human eye, representing the total power of visible light radiated by the light source per unit time. Its unit is lumens (lm).

Key points:
Definition:

Luminous flux is the radiation power that the human eye can perceive, taking into account the sensitivity of the human eye to different wavelengths of light (i.e. visual function).

It is equal to the product of the radiation energy of a certain band per unit time and the relative visibility of that band.

Visual function:

The human eye has different sensitivities to light of different wavelengths, with green light (approximately 555 nm) being the most sensitive and red and purple light being less sensitive.

The visual function (V (λ)) describes the relative sensitivity of the human eye to light of different wavelengths and is a dimensionless weighting factor.

Calculation formula:

Unit

The unit of luminous flux is lumens (lm).

1 lumen represents the luminous flux emitted by a light source of 1 candela (cd) within 1 solid angle.

Application:

Lighting design: Luminous flux is used to measure the total luminous ability of a light source, helping to select the appropriate light source.

Lamp labeling: The luminous flux of the lamp is usually labeled on the packaging to help users understand its brightness.

Energy efficiency assessment: The ratio of luminous flux to input power (luminous efficiency, unit: lm/W) is used to evaluate the energy efficiency of a light source.

Example:
The luminous flux of an ordinary 40 watt incandescent lamp is about 400 lumens.

A 10 watt LED light may have a luminous flux of up to 800 lumens, indicating higher energy efficiency.

Summary:
Luminous flux is a physical quantity that measures the total amount of visible light emitted by a light source, measured in lumens (lm). It considers the sensitivity of the human eye to different wavelengths of light and is an important parameter for lighting design and energy efficiency evaluation.
