Tmall JD Quality Inspection Report
1、 Why is it necessary to obtain a quality inspection report?
Tmall and JD.com have strict control over product quality. When merchants join the platform, add brands, or launch new products, they must provide corresponding product quality inspection reports. This is to protect consumer rights, improve the overall product quality of the platform, and prevent counterfeit and inferior products from entering the market.
2、 Core requirements of quality inspection report
Testing institutions must have complete qualifications
The report must be issued by a third-party organization with dual qualifications of CMA (China Metrology Certification) and CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment), and must be stamped with an official seal. The self inspection report is invalid.
The report content should include key information
Product name, brand, model
Testing items and standards (based on national or industry standards)
Test results and conclusions
Name, seal, and anti-counterfeiting number of the testing institution
Specific categories have special testing requirements
The testing items for different categories of products are different, for example:
Clothing category: ingredient content, color fastness, formaldehyde content, identification marks, appearance quality, etc
Infant and toddler products: additional requirements for saliva color fastness and detection of decomposable aromatic amine dyes
Electronic products: must comply with standards such as GB4943 (IT category), GB8898 (audio and video category), GB7000 (lighting category), etc
Luggage and footwear: folding resistance, outsole peel strength, physical and mechanical properties
3、 Handling process (general steps)
Confirm the testing standards
Contact the testing agency to clarify the product category and applicable national or industry standards.
Fill out the application form and sign the contract
Provide product information and testing requirements, have the institution send a commission application form, fill it out and confirm.
Send samples
Generally, 2 or more samples need to be sent to the laboratory to ensure that the testing can be repeatedly verified.
Product testing and draft confirmation
The laboratory conducts testing (usually 5-7 days), and after completion, a draft report is issued for merchants to verify information.
Issue formal report
After confirming the accuracy, the institution will issue formal paper and electronic reports with CMA/CNAS seals.
Upload to the platform for review
Upload the report to the Tmall or JD merchant backend and complete the qualification submission.
4、 Validity period of quality inspection report
The report issued by the testing agency itself has no fixed validity period, as long as the relevant regulations have not changed, theoretically it is valid for a long time.
But platform regulation is dynamic: Tmall and JD.com will conduct irregular spot checks, usually requiring merchants to update reports every six months or a year to ensure that product quality continues to meet standards.
It is recommended to update within one year from the date of submission to avoid affecting product sales due to expired reports.
