Fixed socket

The safety and performance testing of fixed sockets, plugs, and mobile sockets involves multiple aspects to ensure compliance with relevant standards (such as IEC 60884, GB 2099, etc.). The following is a brief description of each test:

1. Inspection of markings and size gauges
Sign inspection: Check whether the markings on sockets and plugs are clear and durable, including rated voltage, current, manufacturer information, etc.

Dimensional gauge inspection: Use a standard gauge to check whether the size of the socket and plug pin of the socket meet the standard requirements, ensuring that the plug can be correctly inserted into the socket.

2. Anti electric shock protection
Check whether the design of sockets and plugs can prevent users from accidentally coming into contact with live parts, such as the protective door design of sockets, the insulation sheath of plugs, etc.

3. Grounding resistance test
Measure the resistance between the socket grounding terminal and the plug grounding pin to ensure the reliability of the grounding connection, usually requiring a grounding resistance of no more than 0.1 Ω.

4. Fixed socket structure
Check whether the structural design of the socket meets the standard requirements, including the arrangement of sockets, the installation method of the socket, and the strength of the fixing device.

5. Structure of plugs and mobile sockets
Check whether the shell, pins, internal connections, and other structures of the plug and mobile socket meet the standard requirements to ensure their safety and durability.

6. Aging resistance and protection provided by switch housing (IP)
Aging resistance test: Expose sockets and plugs to harsh environments such as high temperature and humidity to test whether their materials can maintain performance.

IP protection level: Test the enclosure protection level of sockets and plugs to ensure that they can prevent dust and water from entering.

7. Insulation resistance and electrical strength
Insulation resistance test: Measure the insulation resistance of sockets and plugs to ensure that their insulation performance meets the requirements.

Electrical strength test: Apply high voltage to sockets and plugs to test whether their insulation materials can withstand the specified voltage without breakdown.

8. Temperature rise
Measure the temperature rise of key parts of sockets and plugs when passing through the rated current, ensuring that the temperature rise does not exceed the limit specified by the standard.

9. Breaking capacity
Test the breaking ability of sockets and plugs when disconnecting circuits to ensure that they can safely disconnect the rated current.

10. Normal operation
Simulate the normal use of sockets and plugs, perform multiple plugging and unplugging operations, and check if they can work properly without damage.

11. The force required to unplug the plug
Measure the force required to remove the plug from the socket, ensuring that it is neither too loose (easy to detach) nor too tight (difficult to remove).

12. Flexible cords and their connections
Check whether the power cords and connections of the mobile sockets and plugs are secure, ensuring that they can withstand the pulling force during normal use.

13. Mechanical strength
Perform mechanical strength testing on sockets and plugs, including impact, compression, etc., to ensure that their shells and internal structures can withstand certain mechanical stresses.

14. Heat resistance (ball pressure)
Place the insulation material of the socket and plug at high temperatures, test their heat resistance, and ensure that they will not deform or fail at high temperatures.

15. Screws, current carrying components, and connections
Check whether the screws, current carrying components, and their connections in the socket and plug are secure, ensuring that they can withstand the rated current without loosening or overheating.

16. Creepage distance, electrical clearance, and sealant penetration distance
Measure the creepage distance and electrical clearance inside sockets and plugs to ensure they meet safety standards and prevent electrical short circuits or breakdowns.

17. Insulation materials' resistance to abnormal heat, flame, and electrical traces
Resistance to abnormal heat: Test the performance of insulation materials at abnormal high temperatures.

Flame resistance: Test the flame retardancy of insulation materials to ensure that they do not support combustion in the event of a fire.

Tracking resistance: Test the tracking resistance of insulation materials under the action of an electric field to prevent insulation failure caused by tracking.

18. Rust prevention performance
Conduct rust prevention tests on the metal parts of sockets and plugs to ensure that they will not rust in humid environments.

19. Additional test for pins with insulation sheath
Conduct additional testing on pins with insulation sheaths to ensure that their insulation sheaths provide sufficient protection against electric shock.

summary
These testing items cover multiple aspects such as electrical performance, mechanical performance, material performance, and safety of sockets and plugs, ensuring their safe and reliable operation under normal use and abnormal conditions. Products that pass these tests usually obtain corresponding certifications (such as CE, CCC, etc.) and can be sold and used in the market.
