The International Organization for Standardization's Technical Committee on Toy Safety (ISO/TC 181) is an organization responsible for organizing member countries to develop international standards for toy products, mainly responsible for developing international standards related to toy safety (such as the ISO 8124 series of standards). Due to the fact that the European Union and the United States are currently the main toy markets in the world, they occupy a dominant position in international standardization organizations. Most of these standards are based on toy safety standards from the European Union and the United States. At present, the countries that adopt international toy safety standards mainly include China, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the five countries of the Southern Common Market of South America, and some ASEAN countries. Therefore, meeting the ISO 8124 standard does not mean that it can meet the requirements of all countries.

Internationally recommended toy safety standards:
·ISO 8124-1. Toy safety. Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical performance.
·ISO 8124-2. Toy safety. Part 2: Flammability.
·ISO 8124-3. Toy safety. Part 3: Migration of certain elements.
·ISO 8124-4. Toy safety. Part 4: Indoor and outdoor household swings, slides, and similar activity toys.
·ISO 8124-5. Toy safety. Part 5: Determination of the total concentration of certain elements in toys.
·ISO 8124-6. Toy safety. Part 6: Certain phthalates in toys and children's products.
·ISO 8124-7. Toy safety. Part 7: Requirements and test methods for finger paint pigments.
·ISO/TR 8124-8. Toy safety. Part 8: Guidelines for determining age.
