DC power supply voltage range

This test examines the performance of the sample within the lowest and highest supply voltage ranges.

Objective of the experiment
The purpose of this experiment is to test the performance of the equipment within the minimum and maximum DC supply voltage range, and evaluate whether its functional status meets the design requirements. Through experiments, verify the stability and reliability of the equipment within the power supply voltage range, ensuring its normal operation in practical applications.

Experimental Background
In a DC power supply system, the supply voltage may fluctuate within a certain range, for example:

12V system: The normal operating voltage range is 9V-16V.

24V system: The normal operating voltage range is 18V-32V.

The equipment needs to maintain normal operation within the specified power supply voltage range, so it is necessary to test the performance of the equipment under the lowest and highest power supply voltage conditions.

Experimental equipment
Device under Test (DUT): Electrical equipment or system that needs to be tested.

Programmable DC power supply: Provides adjustable DC voltage (such as 9V-16V or 18V-32V).

Voltage meter: monitors the amplitude of the supply voltage.

Ammeter: measures the current under the supply voltage.

Oscilloscope: Monitor the working status and output signals of equipment.

Load simulator: Simulate the load situation of the device in actual operation.

Temperature control device (optional): Simulate the supply voltage range under different environmental temperatures.

Experimental Procedure
Device connection:

Connect the DUT to a programmable DC power supply.

Connect an ammeter in series and a voltmeter in parallel in a circuit to monitor current and voltage.

Connect the oscilloscope to monitor the working status and output signals of the device.

Connect the load simulator to simulate the load of the device in actual operation.

Initial testing:

Record the operating status of the DUT, including voltage, current, and functional performance, at the rated supply voltage (such as 12V or 24V).

Minimum Supply Voltage Test:

Use a programmable DC power supply to gradually reduce the supply voltage to the lowest value (such as 9V in a 12V system and 18V in a 24V system).

Record the voltage, current, and operating status of the DUT at the lowest supply voltage.

Observe whether there are any abnormalities in the equipment, such as functional failure, performance degradation, etc.

Maximum supply voltage test:

Use a programmable DC power supply to gradually increase the supply voltage to the highest value (such as 16V in a 12V system and 32V in a 24V system).

Record the voltage, current, and operating status of the DUT at the highest supply voltage.

Observe whether there are any abnormalities in the equipment, such as functional failure, performance degradation, etc.

Functional status verification:

Check whether the equipment can work properly under the minimum and maximum power supply voltage conditions.

Record the functional status of the device at the lowest and highest supply voltages.

Multiple tests:

Repeat the test under different supply voltage conditions (such as minimum, rated, and maximum) to evaluate the performance of the equipment.

Data analysis:

Compare test data under different power supply voltage conditions and analyze the performance of the equipment.

Evaluate whether the performance of the equipment meets the design requirements.

Experimental precautions
safety first:

Power supply voltage fluctuations may have an impact on equipment, and protective measures should be taken to avoid equipment damage.

Ensure good ventilation in the experimental environment to avoid equipment overheating and causing fires.

Gradually adjust parameters:

When adjusting the power supply voltage, the voltage amplitude should be gradually adjusted to avoid momentary high or low voltage damage to the equipment.

Real-time monitoring

During the experiment, real-time monitoring of voltage, current, and equipment status is required to promptly detect any abnormalities.

Temperature simulation (optional):

If it is necessary to test the performance of equipment at different temperatures, temperature control devices can be used to simulate low or high temperature environments.

Experimental results and conclusions
Experimental results:

Record the performance of the device under the lowest and highest supply voltage conditions, including functional status, performance changes, etc.

Record the working status of the equipment at the lowest and highest supply voltages.

Conclusion:

Evaluate the performance of the equipment within the supply voltage range and confirm whether it meets the design requirements.

If the device is malfunctioning, analyze the cause and provide improvement suggestions.

If the device has effective voltage adaptability, confirm that it meets the design requirements.

experiment report
The experimental report should include the following contents:

Experimental objective: Briefly describe the objectives of the experiment.
