KC certification

KC Mark Certification Introduction

The Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) announced on August 2008, 8 that the National Standards Committee will be released in 25

From July to December 7, a new national unified certification mark was implemented, named "KC Mark" mark.

The new logo is called KC Mark, which stands for Korea Certification. The current 13 mandatory signs will be the most

Finally unified under this new logo.

One result of this initiative is to reduce the supplier's expenditure on certification fees, making KC Mark Korea

Gradually become a world brand certification. However, there is a disadvantage, the recently promulgated KCC logo, which will only be implemented for a few years, will eventually be unified under this new KC logo.

KC Mark certifies future implementation plans

December 2008: Update of the basic national legislation and current decrees

July 2009: MKE began implementing the national unified logo

January 2009 - December 1: Improvement of regulations related to certification standards

January 2011: Completed the national unified mark to all compulsory certifications

KC Mark certified product catalog

KC Mark Certification Products List According to the Korea Electrical Appliance Safety Management Act, since January 2009, 1, electrical appliance safety certification has been divided into two types: compulsory certification and self-regulatory (voluntary) certification.

Compulsory certification means that all electronic products that are compulsory products must obtain KC Mark certification before they can be sold in the Korean market. Factory audits and product sampling tests are required every year.

Self-regulatory (voluntary) certification means that all electronic products that are voluntary only need to be tested to obtain certificates, and do not need to be subject to factory audit. The certificate is valid for 5 years.

Technical information required to apply for KC Mark certification

In order to obtain the KC Mark certification, product manufacturers need to apply for electrical and electronic product safety certification from the EST certification body. The manufacturer here refers to the factory that directly produces the product.

When the same model is produced in different factories, each factory needs to apply for KC Mark certification separately, because the factory name is different.

Technical information required to apply for KC Mark certification

1. Application Form for Safety Certification

Product descriptions (or User's Manuals): Korean Version

3. List of critical components

4. Insulation material catalog (designated products)

5. Product circuit diagram (Circuit diagram)

6. Letter of authorization (when applying through agency)

7, Marking Label

8. Factory Questionnaire (Questionaire)

9. Transformer Detailed Specification of Transformer

10. Prepare samples (the number of samples depends on the type of product) (Products)

KC MARK CERTIFICATION WILL REPLACE EK MIC MARK CERTIFICATION

South Korea began to implement the new certification system KC MARK certification on January 2009, 1, the new certification method will apply for products into two categories, classification 1 (compulsory certification) products need factory inspection, the certificate has no validity period; Products in category II (voluntary certification) do not require factory inspection and the certificate is valid for five years.

Among them, the most influential is that South Korea will classify AV products, some information (IT) products and the originally optional Power Supplies for Personal Computer as "Voluntary Safety Verification" and the certificate is valid for five years. Audio and video products and some information products that have applied for EK mark will be automatically converted to the new category in the system of Korean issuers, and the certificate will be valid from January 2009, 1 to December 1, 2013.

In addition, South Korea on July 2009, 7, the original EK mark unified into KC (Korea Certification) mark certification, because the logo conversion did not affect the certification safety standards, so the original certificate does not need to do any version update action, but the original EK mark certification will only be used until June 1, 2011, after which the logo on the product nameplate must be converted to KC MARK certification before it can be sold in Korea.

KC certification

1. Introduction to certification

In order to make consumers more aware of the certification mark displayed on the purchased products and reduce the various certification costs borne by product manufacturers, the Korea Institute of Technical Standards (KATS) announced on August 2008, 8 that it will start implementing the new certification system KC (Korea Certification) certification on January 20, 2009. The program has been implemented in the Ministry of Knowledge Economy since July 1 and is expected to be extended to all departments by the end of 1.

The new certification method divides the applied products into two categories: Category 2009 (compulsory certification) products require factory inspection, certificate?] Has an expiration date; Products in category II (voluntary certification) do not require factory inspection and the certificate is valid for five years. South Korea will classify AV products, some information (IT) products, and originally optional personal computer power supplies as "Voluntary Safety Verification", and the certificate will be valid for five years. Audio-visual products and some information products that have applied for the EK mark will be automatically converted to the new category in the system of the Korean issuer, and the certificate is valid from January 1, 1 to December 2013, 12. See "Related Product Catalogs" for details.

In addition, South Korea on July 2009, 7, the original EK mark unified into the KC logo, because the logo conversion did not affect the certification safety standards, so the original certificate does not need to do any version update action, but the original EK mark will only be used until June 1, 2011, after which the "logo" on the product nameplate must be converted into the KC logo before it can be sold in Korea. At the same time, the existing 6 certification marks such as electrical product mark "K", gas product mark "inspection", daily necessities mark "KPS", information and communication equipment mark "MIC" will also be upgraded to compulsory certification mark "KC", and the corresponding original certification of more than 30 review methods will also be reduced to 13 types.

The implementation plan of the KC logo is as follows:

(1) December 2008: Revision of the Basic Law and Enforcement Order of National Standards;

(2) July 2009: The Ministry of Knowledge Economy began to implement and apply the national unified logo KC;

(3) January 2009 ~ December 1: Amendment of the law related to standard certification;

(4) January 2011: The national unified mark KC was applied to all certifications.

2. Other matters

With the introduction of the "Self-Discipline Safety Confirmation System" to distinguish electrical products by the degree of hazard and the "Safety Investigation System" to prevent hazards caused by electronic products other than those subject to safety certification, the establishment of a simple legal system and the improvement of some weak points in operation will revise the All Electrical Product Safety Law. In order to ensure the implementation of the self-regulatory safety confirmation system, we have established products subject to self-regulatory safety confirmation and self-regulatory safety determination application and procedure methods.

Only the safety test of the product can basically prevent accidents in the market, and such products belong to self-regulatory safety certification. For example, AV products and some office electrical appliances are relatively less harmful products, so they are classified as products subject to self-regulatory safety confirmation declaration.

The establishment of a self-regulatory safety confirmation and declaration system can reduce the burden on enterprises, as long as the product is tested and confirmed at the safety testing agency (safety, electromagnetic compatibility test), and the declaration can be sold without factory audit.

The above regulations will be implemented from January 2009, 1. Electrical products that have obtained safety certification according to the original regulations and are converted to self-regulatory safety confirmation due to the provisions of the new Electrical Appliances Safety Management Law do not need to apply for certification again, and the certification number can be used until December 1, 2013.

As of January 2010, 1, the Act applies to electrical products that were not subject to safety management and are now designated as the subject of safety certification or self-regulatory safety confirmation declaration.

Electrical appliances that have obtained safety certification before the implementation of the Electrical Appliance Safety Management Act can be used until June 2011, 6, after which they must be converted into the KC mark.

For the progress of detailed requirements for KC certification, please pay attention to the announcement of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) of Korea and the information of the Korea Information Security Agency (KISA), the KC certification authority.
