High temperature test is a constant high temperature test, usually accompanied by high humidity testing. It is an environmental simulation reliability test that simulates the temperature and humidity environment in which a product is stored and operated, and checks whether the impact on the product after a period of time in this environment is within an acceptable range.

High temperature and high humidity testing is divided into high temperature and high humidity storage and high temperature and high humidity operation. High temperature and high humidity storage is tested when the product is not in working condition. High temperature and high humidity operation is a test conducted on electronic products when they are powered on.

The temperature range for high-temperature testing generally ranges from 40 ℃ to 80 ℃, and the humidity for testing is between 65% and 95%. The specific testing temperature, humidity, and testing time are determined based on different products and the specific needs of the client.

The commonly used standards for high and low temperature testing are generally GB standards with Chinese reports in China, and EN and IEC

standards with English reports in foreign countries.

What is high temperature testing? What is the significance of high temperature testing?

Degradable plastics exposed to hot environments may undergo various physical and chemical changes. The length of exposure time and temperature determine the degree and type of changes that occur. A short exposure period to high temperatures is usually sufficient to shorten the induction period of oxidizable degradable plastics, which results in the consumption of antioxidants and plasticizers. Physical properties such as tensile strength, impact strength, elongation, and modulus may undergo changes during the induction period; However, these changes are usually not due to a decrease in molecular weight, but rather a response to temperature changes, such as an increase in crystallinity or a decrease in volatiles, or both occurring simultaneously.

In general, short-term exposure of plastics to high temperatures releases volatile substances such as water, solvents, or plasticizers; Reduce molding stress; Enhance the curing of thermosetting plastics; Improve crystallinity; And cause a color change in the plasticizer or coloring agent, or both. Usually, progressive shrinkage will occur as the volatiles decrease or further polymerization reactions occur. Some plastics, such as PVC, may be affected by loss of plasticizers or changes in the fracture surface of polymer molecular chains. Polypropylene and its copolymers often become very brittle during molecular degradation, while polyethylene becomes soft before its tensile strength and elongation decrease and become brittle. Therefore, it is necessary to study the performance of components and equipment such as plastics, rubber, paints and varnishes, polymer materials, and circuit boards at high temperatures.

High temperature testing is a method used to determine the adaptability of products to storage, transportation, and use in high-temperature climate environments. The severity of the experiment depends on the high temperature and exposure duration. The high-temperature testing of polymer materials such as plastics, rubber, paints, and varnishes mainly includes hot air aging, heat resistance testing, and determination of heat resistance. Hot air accelerated aging refers to the exposure of samples to temperatures higher than the rubber usage environment, in order to achieve the natural aging effect of rubber in a short period of time. Heat resistance test refers to the test in which the sample is exposed to the same temperature changes as the rubber usage environment.
