During disasters, the emergency lighting system can provide evacuation path guidance for affected populations, reduce panic in open areas, and offer a sense of security to those who are frightened. The illuminance of emergency lights in the system is a critical safety-related metric.

IEC 60598-2-22:2021, as a test standard for emergency lights, does not specify the minimum illuminance requirements for emergency luminaires in Clause 22.17. Therefore, to determine the required standard values for a product, it is essential to consider the country or region where the product will be used and comply with the relevant local regulations/standards.

Overall, current emergency lighting standards and regulations primarily focus on indoor emergency lighting. Below is a comparative table of relevant regulatory and standard requirements, highlighting differences between various horizontal evacuation zones and between horizontal and vertical evacuation systems, for our clients' reference
