On November 14, 2024, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand issued a new announcement titled "NBTC Notice: Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment Using 5.725-6.425GHz Frequency", introducing a new standard for WiFi 6E - "NBTC TS 1039-2567".
The new standard NBTC TS 1039-2567 has added a reference to EN 303 687.
Recently, NBTC announced the successful pilot of 6GHz spectrum. When Bangkok hospitals connect advanced AR/VR technology for medical training, the full frequency 6GHz Wi Fi has almost zero latency. This means that it can greatly stimulate the demand for testing and certification of medical equipment.
At the same time, with the continuous increase in digital infrastructure construction in Thailand, the demand for certification of communication equipment, smart terminals, IoT devices and other products is also surging. Exporters with NBTC certification needs can apply for certification in advance.
NBTC Basic Information
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand is a typical government regulatory agency. Responsible for formulating all relevant laws and policies for RF/Telecom in Thailand, setting priority standards, selecting qualified technical committee members, reviewing applications and issuing licenses according to the certification plan.
Starting from July 1, 2008, the existing mandatory regulations for mobile communication products will be expanded to include wireless related products for telecommunications equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment. Generally speaking, wireless products such as mobile phones exported to Thailand by manufacturers, importers, traders, retailers, or advertisers (local/overseas) need to obtain NBTC certification in Thailand before they can be sold in the local market.

7. Certification process: organizing materials - checking materials - submitting for review - issuing certificates
