On June 8, 2023, the EU official website released the lighting equipment immunity standard EN IEC 61547:2023, which will replace EN 61547:2009. The new standard will be implemented on December 8, 2023 and will be mandatory on March 8, 2026;
Electrical lighting equipment has a wide range of applications in daily life and is developing rapidly, affecting the daily lives of thousands of households, the night lighting of cities, and the stage lighting for entertainment. EN IEC 61547:2023 adopts the international standard IEC 61547:2020, which is an important testing basis for electrical lighting equipment in terms of emission immunity.

Main technical changes:
1. Increase the ESD and surge test voltage of road lighting equipment as follows:

ESD

Contact discharge : 8kV

Air discharge : 15KV

line to ground : 4KV

 

 

2. Delete self ballasted light line to ground surge test for ≤ 25 W;
3. Modify the surge test level, except for self ballasted lamps with a voltage of ≤ 25 W, all other lighting equipment shall have a test voltage of 1KV for line to line and 2KV for line to ground;
4. Modify the performance judgment of voltage sag testing, with C-level changed to B-level;
5. When conducting ESD discharge on EUT contactable surfaces, two operating modes of ESD were described: normal operation EUT and operation EUT mode.
