On August 17, 2026, Kuwait implemented two energy efficiency standards for lighting products:

KWS 1902-1:2024- Energy Efficiency, Functionality, and Labeling Requirements for Lighting Products - Part 1

 

 


 

KWS 1902-2:2024- Energy Efficiency, Functionality, and Labeling Requirements for Lighting Products - Part 2


 

All lighting products covered by the above standards must be registered in the system of the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) in Kuwait in accordance with relevant regulations, obtain exclusive energy efficiency labels for each product model, and print the labels on the product packaging.


 

The official has now updated the mandatory effective date for energy efficiency registration, which has been extended to December 31, 2026
