To ensure electrical safety, Australian and New Zealand regulations require electrical equipment to be marked with the RCM symbol in accordance with AS/NZS 4417.1&2 and Electrical Equipment and Safety Systems (EESS) requirements, otherwise it cannot be sold in the Australian and New Zealand markets. AS/NZS 4417.2 provides a detailed list of specific regulatory requirements that equipment must comply with this standard.


 

Amendment 1 to AS/NZS 4417.2:2020 was officially released on February 12, 2026.

 


Regulatory changes

 
 

电焊机 – 对于逆变器类型的电焊机，其适用标准更改为IEC 60974-1。其他类型适用标准为AS 60974.1或者 IEC 60947-6。AS/NZS 60335.1的clause 30.2也是强制要求。同时要求电线和插头的功率能够确保电焊机持续工作。过渡期至2027年2月12日。
