On June 8, 2023, the EU official website released the anti-interference standard for lighting equipment - EN IEC 61547:2023, which will replace EN 61547:2009. The new standard will come into effect on December 8, 2023 and will be mandatory on March 8, 2026. The standard has been updated with a focus on the test level of surge testing, which has increased the test voltage compared to the old standard. For details, please refer to the table below:

It should be noted that:

1. Road lighting equipment requires testing line to line: 2KV, line to ground 4KV;

2. What kind of equipment is defined as road lighting equipment?

Equipment used for lighting roads, streets, tunnels, and other public outdoor areas;

Installation height above 2.5 meters;

Lighting equipment that meets both of the above conditions should meet the testing requirements of line to line: 2KV and line to ground: 4KV;

3. The testing of self ballasted lamps (mainly referring to light bulbs) has removed the requirement for line to ground testing, and self ballasted lamps above 25W need to be measured with a conical metal cover.
