Recently, India, Thailand, and Moldova have issued a series of significant policies in areas such as telecommunications and wireless product certification. For relevant enterprises and practitioners, staying updated with these developments is crucial. Below is a detailed analysis.

India: New Developments in TEC and WPC Certifications

TEC Certification Restrictions

On December 29, 2025, the Telecom Engineering Center (TEC), India's telecommunications certification authority, issued a notice stating that from June 30, 2026, MTCTE will accept ILAC test reports, but only for non-border-sharing countries. Non-border-sharing countries refer to those without a land border with India, while nations sharing a land border with India include Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. Clearly, the Indian TEC does not accept ILAC test reports issued by Chinese laboratories, which makes it temporarily difficult to obtain the TEC certification for products requiring such approval.

Normal Application for WPC Certification

Currently, wireless products that only support WIFI and Bluetooth can apply for the Indian WPC wireless certification certificate. The Indian WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing) is the regulatory body for wireless regulations in India. All wireless products must obtain WPC approval before entering the Indian market, which applies to (SRD) wireless products entering India. The certification has the following characteristics:

  • Validity period: No specific time limit required.

Cycle: 2 - 3 weeks, which is relatively short compared to other certifications, allowing products to enter the market more quickly.

Certification method: Based on CERED report certification.

License Holder: Must be a local Indian company.

Sample: No sample preparation is required, which saves the company certain costs and time.

Certification process: Provide CE report and other documents - Submit application - Review documents - Issue certificate.

Thailand: NBTC Wireless Microphones and DECT Announcements

On November 13, 2025, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand issued an announcement in the Thai Official Gazette regarding the standards and frequency band allocation for wireless microphones and Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), which will take effect from December 5, 2025.

    Wireless microphone (NBTC TS 1006 - 2568)

It includes wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, tour guide systems, assistive listening devices, and a wireless multichannel audio system (WMAS) with a bandwidth of up to 8 MHz. Additionally, the electrical safety standards have been updated to comply with IEC 62368-1 and TIS 62368 Part 1-2563.

    DECT equipment (NBTC TS 1042 - 2568)

Applicable to DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) devices operating in the 1880–1900 MHz frequency range with a maximum output power of 250 mW e.i.r.p. The equipment must comply with RF standards ETSI EN 301 406 V2.2.1, ETSI EN 301 406 - 1 V3.1.1, and ETSI EN 301 406 - 2 V3.1.1, while electrical safety shall adhere to IEC62368 - 1 and TIS62368Part1 - 2563 standards.

Moldova: Simplify the process of wireless electronic products

According to the LP197/2025 regulation, Moldova will simplify the market access process for wireless electronic products. Starting from February 28, 2026, products that are legally affixed with the CE mark will be recognized without the need for repeated compliance assessments in Moldova. However, there is a transitional period arrangement, and the Moldova Declaration of Conformity (SM DoC) is still required before February 28, 2026.

When facing changes in certification policies in different countries, enterprises should adjust their strategies in a timely manner to ensure that their products meet relevant standards and requirements, in order to smoothly enter the target market.
