Introduction to MIC Certification in Vietnam
The Vietnamese MIC certification refers to the certification standards issued by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MIC) of Vietnam, covering multiple fields such as radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, and information technology equipment. The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam is the competent authority in the field of radio and communication in the country, and its subsidiary, the Vietnam Authority of Telecommunications (VNTA), is the specific supervisory authority for radio and telecommunications equipment. Due to the presence of VNTA watermark on the license certificate issued by MIC, the licensing process is commonly referred to as MIC authentication or VNTA authentication. Whether produced locally or imported in Vietnam, all telecommunications products within the mandatory certification catalog published by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) must meet the requirements of relevant QCVN/TCN standards.
MIC authentication classification:
The MIC certification in Vietnam is divided into Type Approval (TA) certification, formal test certificate, and Declaration of Conformity (DOC).
1) Formal test certificate for wireless products: mobile phones (PHS, GSM, CDMA, mobile phones), wireless pagers, wireless intercoms, cordless phones, mobile communication base stations, repeaters, wireless public telephones, wireless network equipment.
2) Declaration of Conformity Information Technology Products: Desktop computers, computer servers, laptops, routers, hubs, switches, gateways, firewalls, set-top boxes, (mobile phones, tablets, laptops) lithium batteries, etc.
3) Products exempted from MIC certification: 2.4 GHz/5 GHz wireless LAN devices with transmission power below 60 mW (some Bluetooth/wireless products can be exempted from MIC certification for sale in the Vietnamese market due to their lower power)
Certification process:
1) Provide product specifications and functional parameters, and confirm that the product requires certification within the mandatory list
2) Customer provides product information such as samples, product manuals, specifications, etc
3) Vietnam laboratory testing
4) After the test is completed, issue a test report and wait for the certificate to be issued
