The new Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law, promulgated by the Mexican government on July 16, 2025, stipulates that the Mexican Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) will officially cease operations on October 17, 2025, and the Telecommunications Commission (CRT) will be established on the same day, taking over all regulatory responsibilities of the telecommunications and broadcasting industry and re planning Mexico's regulatory approach to its digital infrastructure.
