Recently, the draft version of the standard DR AS/NZS 2293.3:2024 developed by the Australia New Zealand Lighting LG-007 Joint Technical Committee has entered the public opinion stage (ending on May 8, 2025), and is expected to be released in the 2025 version by the end of this year, which will replace the current AS/NZS 2293.3:2018+A1:2021.

(1) Updated terminology and testing definitions to align with AS 60598.2.22 and IEC 61347-2-7:2011+A1:2017+A2:2021; For example:

 

(2) Update the definition of export label components to improve consistency;

(3) Increase the lifespan estimation and labeling requirements for the L80 light source of continuous emergency lighting fixtures;

 

(4) Regarding the level of light intensity distribution, lighting fixtures that are exempt from testing and labeling have been added, such as emergency lights for stair handrails and adjustable headlights. Added the requirement for four sided (C0/C90/C180/C270) grade identification for some lighting fixtures.
