1、 The main changes of the new version of QPRDv3
(1) Document integration: Integrate compliance requirements from PRD, DPD, and core specifications;
(2) User scenario improvement: Improve identification paths based on user scenarios;
(3) Core configuration: Replace product type with core configuration;
(4) Terminology update: updating terminology to maintain consistency;
(5) Testing requirements: Implement unified and clear testing requirements;
(6) Test simplification: only generate the required test merge management documents and operation documents to simplify the test plan;
(7) Extended version: allows unmodified designs to use the previous TCRL version;
(8) Cancel duplicate evaluation: Cancel the requirement for reassessment with a three-year validity period;
(9) Interoperability improvement: Enhance product interoperability through IOPT and inter layer dependencies;
(10) Enhanced readability: By using step-by-step guidance and clear tables to explain policies, enhance readability;
(11) Increase flexibility: Provide users with greater flexibility in controlling and managing their products and designs;
(12) Transition guidance: Add an appendix to provide transition guidance for products that meet the requirements of PRD 2.3 or earlier;
2、 Preparation and Implementation Progress
New Tools and Support: Launch new qualification certification tools, provide educational and support resources:
(1) Launch new qualification certification tools to support new processes and policies;
(2) Update Bluetooth ® Core specifications to support QPRD;
(3) Update the terms of use of the qualification certification tool;
(4) Modify the terminology in the expense table (no cost changes);
(5) Move the transition period of test case categories from QPRD to TMPD;
(6) Complete TCRL release;
(7) Update the document to align terminology with QPRD;
（2） Provide education and support resources for members;
3、 QPRDv3 Implementation Phase
Implement new processes in stages, including tool development, user testing, and final approval.
The preparation work for the update and launch will be completed on July 1st, and the new qualification certification plan will be implemented in stages:
(1) Phase 1 (completed): Currently, we are developing a new qualification certification tool and launching member education and support resources, including new knowledge base articles and updated Bluetooth qualification certification consultant exams;
(2) Phase 2 (ongoing): User testing will be conducted together with the Bluetooth Qualification Review Committee, Bluetooth Testing and Interoperability Committee, Bluetooth Qualification Advisor, and Bluetooth Qualification Testing Facility; Confirm the schedule for online updates; And seek final approval from the Bluetooth SIG board to continue deploying the tool and QPRD;
(3) Phase 3: In the final stage, complete all preparation work, launch new tools, and launch QPRD;
4、 How will the abandonment and withdrawal of regulations affect product certification?
(1) If the Bluetooth design used by the member product includes specifications that have entered the retirement stage and the Layer layer has not been modified, the design can continue to be used to complete product certification;
(2) If the Bluetooth design used by member products includes specifications that have entered the retirement stage, but changes need to be made to the ICS of the corresponding Layer layer to correctly reflect the new features of the product, then the "Create a New Design" option (see QPRD section 3.2.2.2 for details) must be used to complete product certification using the latest specifications;
(3) When using the "Use a Single Existing Design" option for authentication, Bluetooth designs containing discontinued specifications must not be used;
(4) If it is necessary to use a design that includes discontinued specifications, members must authenticate through the "Create a New Design" option and remove or replace the layers affected by discontinued specifications with the latest defined layer in the specifications;
5、 What certification information should suppliers provide to downstream customers?
(1) The identification number for Bluetooth design will be changed from the original Qualified Design ID (QDID) to Design Number (DN). Similar to QDID, DN can also be referenced by other members. Therefore, suppliers need to provide the DN of the products they sell to downstream customers so that they can continue to complete the certification of their own products.
(2) Product types will no longer be applicable and will be replaced by Core Configuration and its corresponding Permitted Combinations. Table B.1 in Appendix B of QPRD details the mapping relationship between traditional product types and new core configurations, while Table 3.1 in Section 3.2.2.1 details the available combinations and their requirements.
(3) At the same time as canceling the product type, the previous provision that component type products (Components) need to be re evaluated every 3 years has also been correspondingly cancelled (see Appendix B of QPRD for details).
