1、 The countdown has started

Amazon Canada has planted a 'time bomb'.

On June 30, 2026, new compliance regulations for lithium battery powered household appliances were officially implemented. On August 30th, non compliant products will be forcibly removed from the listing - not as a warning, not as a flow restriction, but as a direct removal.

This is not a prediction, it is a published policy.

The window period left for sellers is shorter than expected. Because compliance is not as simple as "submitting a report" - you need to complete five steps: product judgment → standard matching → laboratory inspection → TIC verification → page improvement, each of which has checkpoints.

2、 First of all, let's clarify: is your product within the "scope of attack"?

📌  Three types of batteries, included upon hit

As long as your product is powered by the following three types of rechargeable lithium batteries, it falls under the jurisdiction of the new regulations:

Li Ion (Lithium ion Battery)

LiPo (Lithium Polymer Battery)

LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery)

📌  Six major categories covered

① Floor cleaning equipment: vacuum cleaner, floor cleaning machine, floor scrubber, floor steam cleaner

② Kitchen food preparation: mixers, stirrers, juicers, food processors, slicers, meat grinders, grinders, electric knives, milk frothers, salt and pepper grinders

③ Environmental appliances: air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers

④ Fan category: desktop fan, garage fan, camping fan, terrace fan

⑤ Personal hair care products: curling hair comb, curling iron, straightener, hair dryer

⑥ Air conditioning heat pump category: electric heat pump, air conditioning

📌  Clearly excluded products (do not misjudge)

The following products are not within the scope of this policy, don't mess around in vain:

❌  NiMH battery powered electrical appliances

❌  Nickel cadmium (NiCd) battery powered electrical appliances

❌  Non rechargeable battery powered electrical appliances

❌  AC powered electrical appliances

❌  Heavy commercial appliances

❌  power tool

❌  Horticultural and lawn care products

❌  Smart digital devices such as mobile phones/tablets/music players/speakers

❌  Clock/remote control/timer/body scale/food scale and other small household appliances

💡  Quick self-test method: Can the battery be unplugged and plugged in for use? It may not be within the scope. No, and the battery is a lithium-ion/lithium polymer/lithium iron phosphate rechargeable type → there is a high probability of hitting.

3、 Standard matching: Ten types of products x three-layer standard system

The compliance logic of the Canadian station differs fundamentally from that of the American station - the core standard system has been switched from UL to CSA C22.2 series. The UL report you made on the US site may not be fully applicable on the Canadian site.

The entire standard system is divided into three layers: product safety standards, battery safety standards, and transportation safety standards, all of which are indispensable.

First layer: Product safety standards (corresponding to categories)

① Floor steam cleaning machine → CSA C22.2 No. 64 (household cooking and liquid heating appliances)

② Vacuum cleaner/floor cleaning equipment (excluding steam cleaner) → CSA C22.2 No. 243 (Vacuum cleaner, blower cleaner, and household floor polisher)

③ Blender/juicer/food processor and other kitchen appliances → CSA C22.2 No. 1335.1 (portable electric and heating appliances: general requirements) → CSA C22.2 No. 1335.2.14 (portable electric and heating appliances: special requirements for electric kitchen appliances)

⚠️  Both of the above conditions are met simultaneously, not a binary choice.

④ Air Purifier → CSA C22.2 No. 113 (Fans and Ventilators)

⑤ Fan → Scheme 1: CSA C22.2 No. 113 (fans and ventilators) → Scheme 2: CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60335-1 (household appliances: general requirements)+C22.2 No. 60335-2-80 (household appliances: special requirements for fans)

Choose one of the two options.

⑥ Humidifier → CSA C22.2 No. 104 (Humidifier)

⑦ Electric Heat Pump/Air Conditioner/Dehumidifier → CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60335-1 (Household Appliances: General Requirements) → CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-40 (Special Requirements for Electric Heat Pump, Air Conditioner, and Dehumidifier)

⚠️  Both conditions are met simultaneously.

⑧ Hair dryer/hair styling equipment → CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60335-1 (household appliances: general requirements) → CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-23 (special requirements for skin and hair care appliances)

⚠️  Both conditions are met simultaneously.

⑨ Lithium battery charger (choose one from four) → CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 (power conversion equipment) → or CSA C22.2 No. 223 (ultra-low voltage Class 2 output power supply) → or CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-29 (special requirements for battery chargers) → or CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1 (safety requirements for audio and video/ICT equipment)

Second layer: Safety standards for battery body (choose one from three)

Lithium battery cells or battery packs, choose one of the following three options:

UL 1642 (Lithium Battery)

UL 2054 (Household and Commercial Batteries)

CSA C22.2 No. 62133-2 (Safety Requirements for Portable Sealed Batteries: Lithium System)

Third layer: Transportation safety (mandatory, non exempt)

No matter which standard you choose in the second layer, UN 38.3 (Part III, Section 38.3 of the United Nations Manual of Tests and Criteria, Transport Safety Testing for Lithium Batteries) must be added.

🔑  Remember the three-layer structure in one sentence: product safety CSA standard+battery safety choose one of three+transportation safety UN 38.3=qualified.

4、 TIC Verification: Amazon Canada's Unique 'Second Pass'

This is the biggest process difference from the US station - the Canadian station not only requires you to have a testing report, but also requires you to pass the verification of * * TIC (Testing, Inspection and Certification) * * service provider.

Two paths, choose according to your actual situation

📁  Path A: There are already existing files

Applicable scenario: You already have compliance documents such as testing reports in your possession.

Operation method: Submit the file to a TIC service provider authorized by Amazon, and have TIC review whether the file complies with Amazon's policy guidelines. Once approved, the verification is completed.

Core risk: The report must meet three hard conditions - ① issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory; ② Issued within the past 12 months; ③ The standard matching is correct. If any condition is not met, path A cannot be taken and path B needs to be switched.

📦  Path B: New product detection required

Applicable scenarios: There are no existing files, or existing files do not meet the standards.

Operation method: Send the goods to the TIC service provider laboratory, complete the testing according to applicable standards, and issue a compliance report.

📎  Verification file list (none is missing)

When submitting TIC verification, the following documents must be prepared simultaneously:

① ISO 17025 accredited laboratory testing report

Issued by a laboratory accredited by ISO 17025 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories)

Issued within the past 12 months (expired and invalidated, requiring re inspection)

The report must cover all CSA C22.2 series standards corresponding to your product

② UN 38.3 test report (must be attached)

Prove that the product meets the relevant requirements of UN 38.3

③ BTS (Battery Test Overview)

Summary document of battery testing to prove that the product meets the relevant requirements of UN 38.3

⚠️ The 12-month time window is the most prone point to rollover. Many sellers believe that "test reports are valid for a long time," but Amazon only recognizes reports issued within 12 months from the date of issuance. Upon expiration, retesting is required without exception.

5、 Product details page: Don't stumble at the last step

All the files are prepared. If the information on the Listing page is not the same, it will be rejected. Amazon requires product detail pages to include the following attributes:

Model, part number or product number

Manufacturer or brand name

If either field is missing, the review system will directly determine that the information is incomplete, and TIC verification cannot proceed.

💡  Practical suggestion: Before submitting TIC verification, go to the seller's backend to check whether the details page fields have been filled in completely for each SKU. This is something that can be solved in 5 minutes, but there are many sellers stuck here.

6、 Countdown action list: Five steps that must be completed before August 30th

Step 1 | Confirm the product scope and verify whether the battery type of the product is Li Ion/LiPo/LiFePO4 rechargeable battery, and whether the product belongs to one of the six major categories. Exclude NiMH, NiCd, and AC power supply products.

Step 2 | Match applicable standards by category and compare them with CSA C22.2 series standards to confirm product safety standards (first layer)+battery standards (choose one from three for the second layer)+UN 38.3 (mandatory for the third layer). If you're not sure, just ask the laboratory.

Step 3 | To select a TIC service provider, you must choose a TIC organization authorized by Amazon for verification. It's not just about finding a laboratory to produce a report - TIC verification is a mandatory process on Amazon Canada.

Step 4 | Submit documents or send samples for testing of existing reports → Walk Path A and submit for TIC review; No report → Walk path B for sample testing. Ensure that the report is valid for 12 months and that the BTS battery testing checklist is prepared simultaneously.

Step 5 | Complete the product detail page and check if each SKU detail page contains the model/part number/product number and manufacturer/brand name. Directly reject if the information is incomplete.
