When conducting EMC tests, the failure of the conducted radiation test, which is often a concern, will result in the export of measurement data, which can clearly observe whether the disturbance exceeds the limit value. However, the often overlooked EMS (Electromagnetic Immunity) immunity test actually has a limited value, but this limit value is mostly based on the performance of the tested equipment (EUT) after applying specified electromagnetic interference, and is classified and evaluated in combination with the performance criteria specified in relevant standards (such as IEC 61000-4 series, product standard series, etc.). The following are the mainstream judgment methods:

Classification of performance criteria

The performance criteria in the basic standards of EMS immunity testing are usually divided into the following categories:

Class A (Passed): During and after the experiment, the equipment functions normally without any decrease or abnormality in performance, and meets the design specifications.

Class B (conditionally passed): During the experiment, there is a temporary decrease or loss of function or performance, but it can be automatically restored without manual intervention. Whether it is qualified depends on whether the product standard or test outline allows for such influences.

Class C (failed): Abnormal functionality during the experiment, requiring manual reset, restart, or operational intervention to restore.

Class D (failure): The device is damaged or permanently loses functionality, and cannot be restored.

Note: The criteria in the product standards have been simplified to three levels: A/B/C, where Class C includes situations that require manual intervention or complete failure;

The above four levels are only general descriptions of various basic standards. Although the general idea is not bad, the details must be based on the standard description to clarify the EMC product standards (basic, general, or product category) that the product should follow. For example, lighting products mainly observe changes in light intensity, screen display products mainly observe changes in image quality and whether there are functional deficiencies, and audio products mainly reproduce the tone, loudness, and sound types of musical sounds.
