Air Transport Certificate

With the rapid development of the economy, the circulation of goods is increasingly pursuing speed and convenience, and air freight has become a choice for transporting goods. To ensure the safety of air transportation and meet the transportation needs of customers for goods, an air transport appraisal certificate is required for goods that cannot be determined whether they have hidden dangers or cannot be correctly classified and identified.

What is an air freight appraisal certificate?

The full name of air transport appraisal is "Identification and Classification Report for Air Transport of Goods", commonly known as air transport appraisal or appraisal.

1、 Which goods require an air freight appraisal certificate?

1. Goods with batteries

The classification and identification of batteries is quite complex, and batteries or products containing batteries may be classified as dangerous goods in categories 4.3, 8, and 9 for air transportation. Therefore, identification reports are required as support for the products involved in air transportation.

The battery products listed below are classified by type and are some of the battery products that we often encounter that require battery safety testing. Due to the wide variety of battery products, it is not possible to list all names. Whether they comply with the requirements of the air transport agreement is subject to experimental measurement results.

Consumer electronics battery testing and certification: lithium polymer batteries, lithium-ion batteries, lithium-ion cells, cylindrical batteries, square batteries, button batteries, mobile phone batteries, nickel hydrogen batteries, nickel cadmium batteries, dry batteries, lithium manganese batteries, power banks, 18650 batteries

Power battery testing and certification: balance car battery, car starting power supply, electric vehicle battery, power tool battery, lead-acid battery, lithium-ion battery, nickel cadmium battery, solar battery

2. Magnetic goods

According to the IATA902 international air transport agreement, any magnetic field strength at a distance of 2.1m from the surface of the tested item should be less than 0.159A/m (200nT) before it can be used for general cargo transportation (general cargo identification). Any cargo containing magnetic materials will generate a magnetic field in space, and safety testing of magnetic cargo is required to ensure flight safety.

3. Powder goods

Goods in the form of powder must provide an air freight identification report, such as diamond powder, spirulina powder, and various plant extracts.

4. Goods containing liquids and gases

For example, some instruments may contain rectifiers, thermometers, barometers, pressure gauges, mercury converters, etc

5. Chemical goods

Chemical goods and various chemical products generally require an air transport appraisal report for air transportation. Chemicals can be roughly divided into hazardous chemicals and ordinary chemicals. The commonly used chemicals in air transportation are ordinary chemicals, which can be transported as ordinary goods. These chemicals must have a general cargo air transportation appraisal report to be carried, which proves that the goods belong to ordinary chemicals and are not dangerous goods.

6. Goods with oil content

For example, automotive components such as engines, carburetors, or fuel tanks that may contain fuel or residual fuel; Camping equipment or utensils may contain flammable liquids such as kerosene and gasoline.

2、 What is included in the air freight appraisal report?

The main contents of the cargo transportation appraisal report generally include the name of the goods and their enterprise identification, the main physical and chemical characteristics, the hazardous characteristics of the transported goods, the laws and regulations on which the appraisal is based, emergency disposal methods, etc. The purpose is to provide transportation units with information directly related to transportation safety.

3、 Process for Handling Air Transport Appraisal Certificate

Step 1: Quotation

Determine the testing time and corresponding costs based on the provided information.

Step 2: Apply for an Application

1. Determine customer information

A. Which city does the customer's product come from for air export;

B. Is the customer's product shipped separately or in conjunction with other products.

2. Fill out the UN38.3 application form

3. Provide battery specification sheet

4. Provide 30 samples

Step 3: Payment via Pay

After the applicant confirms the quotation, they will sign the filing application form and service agreement and pay the full project fee.

Step 4: Testing

The laboratory conducts a complete set of tests on the applied product according to relevant testing standards.

Step 5: Test passed, report completed

Step 6: Project completion, issuance of DGM appraisal certificate
