1、 Why do we need to test salt spray

Salt spray testing is an accelerated corrosion resistance evaluation method for artificial atmospheres It atomizes a certain concentration of salt water and then sprays it into a closed constant temperature box. By observing the changes of the tested sample after being placed in the box for a period of time, it reflects the corrosion resistance of the tested sample. It is an accelerated testing method that takes a short time, not a few years, only a few days, or even a few hours

6、 Test conditions

Sodium chloride solution concentration 50g/L ± 5g/L

The pH value is 6.5~7.2

Temperature inside the test chamber 35 ± 2 ° C

The settling speed of salt spray is every 80cm ² 1.5 ± 0.5mL per hour

7、 Sample preparation

The type, quantity, shape, and size of the sample shall be determined according to the product standard. If there is no standard, it shall be negotiated by relevant parties

Before the experiment, the sample must be cleaned using appropriate methods, but protective organic films intentionally coated on the sample should not be removed.

For the cut sample, paint, paraffin, or tape should be used to protect the cutting area.

8、 Test time

The test time is determined according to different product specifications. Generally speaking, it is 2/4/6/8/24 hours, and if it is greater than 24 hours, it is an integer multiple of 24 hours.

9、 Post test sample processing

After the experiment, take out the sample and let it dry naturally indoors for 0.5-1 hour. Then, gently rinse with clean flowing water at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius to remove any residual salt spray solution. Immediately blow dry with a hair dryer
