FCC's new KDB 447498 regulation postponed until July
The transition period for KDB447498 can be extended until June 30, 2022, with the exception of PAG cases, the new version of the assessment will be mandatory after June 30.
Notes for certification application:
Transition period until June 30, 2022:
Attachment "447498 D04 Interim General RF Exposure Guidelines v01" is available for device authorization and must be used in conjunction with any other relevant revised KDB RF exposure procedures and policies, including FCC-TCB meeting presentations.
The previous version, "447498 D01 General RF Exposure Guidance v06," may also be used during the transition period as long as a Form 731 and associated authorization application is filed with the FCC on or before June 30, 2022. "447498 D01 General RF Exposure Guidance v06" must be used in its entirety (ie, old and new procedures cannot be mixed when submitting an application for certification).
After June 30, 2022, all applications can only use the new procedure that will be published as "D01 447498 General RF Exposure Guidance v07" and based on "447498 D04 Interim General RF Exposure Guidance", replacing the KDB "447498 General RF Exposure Guidance v06" ".
The only exception is if the application for accreditation includes projects that are subject to the Pre-Approval Guidelines (PAG, KDB Publication 388624) submitted before July 1, 2022. In this case, the TCB can grant the device after the June deadline of March 30, 2022, with "447498 General RF Exposure Guidance v06" after PAG approval.
