Saudi Arabia's ICT and Mobile Device Requirements Specification Update
The Saudi Arabian Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has updated the technical specification "GEN002 - Requirements for Specific ICT Equipment". This specification is for ICT equipment and mobile equipment, and the regulated equipment is divided into the following product categories:
• Mobile phones, tablets and mobile computers
• Mobile routers and customer premises equipment CPE
• Cellular IoT Devices
In 2022, the n71 band will not be mandatory. So now, 5G NR band n71 is voluntary and only bands n1, n3, n8, n28, n40 and n77 can be required.
The specified device needs to support the following frequency bands:
• LTE:B1, B3, B8, B20, B28, B40 和 B41 (2540-2640MHz)
• 5G NR:n1, n3, n8, n28, n40, n41, n77 和 n78
However, Saudi Arabia's CITC is promoting the addition of the n71 band to its equipment, and is considering requiring the n71 band for equipment entering the Saudi market in the future.
