The two new product standards released this time are:

1. GB31604.53-2022 "Determination of Migration of 5-Ethylidene-2-Norbornene in National Food Safety Standards for Food Contact Materials and Products", the implementation date is December 30, 2022.

5-Ethylidene-2-norbornene in food contact materials is mainly derived from EPDM rubber and other materials. The migration limit of 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene is not required in the relevant product standards. higher than 0.05mg/kg. This standard has a detection limit of 0.001mg/kg and a limit of quantification of 0.003mg/kg for water-based, acidic and ethanol-containing food simulants; for oil-containing food simulants and chemical alternative solvents, the method detection limit is 0.01mg/kg kg, the limit of quantification is 0.03 mg/kg. The release of this standard provides a scientific detection method for further strengthening the safety management and control of food contact materials such as EPDM rubber.
